Austin Ryan

Austin is so much fun, I think we should have started with a grandchild. He seriously makes all the teen year angst with his mother so worthwhile. He has the biggest personality and ornery spirit. He identifies his belly, head and is working on ears and nose. While being quizzed one day, he got a rotten grin on his face and pointed at the front of his diaper and gestured as if to ask what that was. Lauren, surprised by the question informed him he didn't need to know a word for that yet and he cracked up. He is thirteen months old.

Wednesday night Lauren called laughing so hard, she was wiping tears as she asked when she became a handful. Finding out she was 18 months old before she started challenging us was met with, "Great! he's advanced!" and Greg and I lost it. It needs to be on record that I never threatened her with the curse of having a child just like her but it appears God saw fit to bequeath this gift to her anyway. Austin was throwing fists full of his dinner and was promptly removed from his chair where he then threw himself onto the ground crying. Taylor asked him if he needed to go to bed and Austin stood up, stomped to his room and slammed the door. Lauren was stunned since no one in their house slams doors. Again, he is thirteen months old.

And then she sent this video.....The boy loves dipping food and will consume literally anything if ranch dressing or ketchup is involved. This is his reaction to seeing it in the refrigerator.

He graduated from his helmet a few weeks ago and the boy has had a recurring bump on his head since. Lauren says she wishes she could order the next size helmet and keep him in one for his own safety!

We miss this baby.
